This activity helps students understand how artificial intelligence can support learning when used responsibly. Students learn that AI can be useful for brainstorming, practicing vocabulary, organizing ideas, checking grammar, and asking for explanations, but it should not replace independent thinking or original work.
Students will review the classroom AI Guidelines and discuss acceptable and unacceptable uses of AI. They will compare examples of responsible AI use with examples that may violate academic integrity. This activity helps students understand that they are responsible for the accuracy, honesty, and quality of their final work.
Students will also practice writing a short AI use statement. This statement explains whether AI was used, how it was used, and how the student revised or verified the result. This helps students build transparency and academic honesty.
By the end of the activity, students will understand that AI is a support tool, not a shortcut. They will learn to use AI carefully, protect private information, check for errors or bias, and follow teacher instructions.
